REMOVAL of silver fillings results in the release of mercury vapour.

Protocol for silver filling removal

By Roy Morris BDS

In order to minimise the risk to you a rubber dam should be applied. The dam reduces the risk of mercury inhalation and ingestion.

Protocol for silver filling removal
Homoeopathy remedies should be taken before, during and after treatment.

Homoeopathy remedies should be taken before, during and after treatment. These can be provided by Mr. Morris who has training in homoeopathy.

When multiple removal is to be undertaken priorities need to be established. Assessment of electrical activity is first measured. Treatment is then planned on the basis of removing the most active restorations first.

Occasionally nutritional protocols may be desirable when multiple removal of restorations is contemplated. Mr. Morris will advise you on this point.

Removal of silver amalgam should be accompanied by:

  • Appropriate medication.
  • Adequate protection for you, the patient.
