TWO dentists have teamed up to launch their own practice despite their unusual names - Toothaker and Payne.

The pair are based in Lincoln, Nebraska, and have no shortage of clients prepared to brave their surgery.
Jeffrey Payne, master of dental science, is assistant dean for research and postgraduate and graduate dental education at the University of Nebraska. His colleague, Randy Toothaker, is, among other things, associate professor and director of postdoctoral prosthodontics. Both conduct research and teach as well as spending a day a week seeing patients according to the Lincoln Journal Star.
When the pair got together they didn't know quite how the public would react but they say many of their patients choose them out of the phone book on purpose. Toothaker said: "Patients remember our names - actually I thinks its a marketing tool. We needed each other!"
